Teacher Gift Jar


Start off the school year with a gift for Teacher, this handsome, handy storage jar made with Americana Gloss Enamels.

DecoArt Products Required

Americana Gloss Enamels

• DAG01 - White

• DAG65 - Dark Chocolate

• DAG67 - Black

• DAG71 - Glorious Gold

• DAG230 - Festive Green

• DAG265 - Tuscan Red


Supplies

• Ruler

• Cardstock

• Scissors

• Pencil

• Foam plate

• Masking tape

• 1/2" flat brush

• #3 round brush

• 10-mm and 3/4" round foam pouncer brushes


Surfaces

• Quart-sized smooth glass jar with lid, Ball


Instructions

1. Remove labels and lid before painting. Clean surface.

2. Place strip of tape across front of jar 1 1/2" from bottom. Use ruler to mask off

2 1/4" x 2 1/2" rectangle; secure edges of tape to avoid paint seepage.
3. Use large pouncer and Black to paint inside rectangular opening of tape; carefully remove tape while paint is wet.

4. Use round brush and Glorious Gold to paint border around Black rectangle for chalkboard frame; let dry.

5. Print pattern onto cardstock and trim it to within 1/2" of pattern edge. Cut out apple, leaf, and stem shapes to create stencil.

6. Refer to photo for placement and tape edge of stencil to glass area. (Do not tape over paint)

7. Holding stencil down with finger, use small pouncer dipped in Tuscan Red to apply thick coat of paint over apple shape. Repeat with Festive Green to paint leaf; let dry.

8. Use round brush and Dark Chocolate to paint stem on apple; let dry.

9. Use round brush and Cloud White to paint highlight on apple and A+ on chalkboard area; let dry.

10. Follow instructions on Americana Gloss Enamels package to heat-set paint.
